Why a Chinese name?

Chinese Name
When you speak or write a Chinese name, the last name (also known as family name) usually goes first and is followed by the first name.
Most of the time, the Chinese last name has only one character, and the first name has no more than two characters. Parents like to use the word for mountain, sea, tree, dragon, tiger, outstanding, brave, strong, and honest to make up the first name to reflect the hope they have for their boys. For girls, parents like to use the word for soft, beautiful, harmony, and elegant.
